Merry Christmas!

It's finally here and almost gone. I can believe how fast Christmas came. It has been a great two days with family and friends, and I just wanted to wish my cyber friends a Merry Christmas.

I thought that first I would show you some new pictures of my new puppy Maddie. She is now 11 weeks old and loves the snow. She loved Christmas too, and was a huge help in unwrapping presents (prior to the time they were supposed to be opened).

My son will be 21 on Saturday, and even though the holidays are over, I have just a few more days before my parties actually end. We are taking 5 of his friends to the Chicago Wolves hockey game and then to a few bars to celebrate. Much safer this way (and he agreed). Below is a picture of Jason with his dog.
Two more days and counting. If you are over 21, do you remember when it was a huge deal to be 21? Wow time flies.
I know this has been a personal blog today, but Christmas is all about family and friends, so I decided to break habit and not talk about my shops and to share a little of myself with you.
One of the best things that happened this holiday was seeing my cousin Johnny (okay it's really John, but old habits die hard). I haven't seen in him in years, and had the pleasure of meeting his new wife Glenette and her daughter Cassie. I hope to spend more time with them soon.
Have a great day, and I will talk with you soon.

Perfect Gift for Mom or Teacher

Do you always wonder what to get mom when she has everything, or how about that special teacher in your child's life?

These bracelets are unique and let that special person know that you think they are special. The six Swarovski crystals each represent a different meaning, and the poem is original and written by me. This guarantees that receiver of the bracelet will not find this gift anywhere else.

I had so much fun writing the poem and putting the bracelets together, knowing that each one will be treasured by the person who receives it. I also have friendship and daughter bracelets, or if you need one for someone else special, in-law, aunt or any other customized name, just send me an email, and I will put up a listing for you!

These original bracelets and poems are perfect for any occassion. Just check out my shop to purchase. The poem for a mother reads:

This bracelet of many colors is to let you know that I see the many things you do.
Green is for your generous spirit.
Purple is for you patience with me.
Blue is for your smile that brightens my day.
White is for your wisdom you share with me.
Red is for your respect of my uniqueness.
Pink is for your passion of being my mother.
Thank you for sharing your gifts with me.

On a different note, I'm just finishing up my custom orders, and being crazy with my puppy. She is quite the lover, and is really exploring and testing all limits now. My son comes home for Christmas break today, and I'm looking forward to seeing him. I will be taking pictures this weekend, and will add new pictures of the puppy, plus hopefully list some new items.
Talk with you soon!

I'm Back (and have a new puppy)

I have to apologize for not blogging for so long. Life became very busy and I just let it slide. Thank goodness that New Year's is coming up and I can make a resolution. Okay, just starting a little early, but one of my resolutions is to really blog, do the advertising and give the proper attention to my shops. If I want this to be success, and obtain my long term goals, than I need to give it more attention.

On the personal side, my husband and I added a new puppy to our home on November 30, 2008. Her name is Madison (Maddie), and she is a English Springer Spaniel. She is now 9 weeks old and is so fun, but yet frustrating. Potty training is going well, but sleeping and puppy biting are going to kill me. I haven't slept through the night in two weeks. If you have any great dog training tips, please leave a comment or email me. I'm open to anything. Here are a few pictures that I wanted to share!

My last show of the season was at Santa Maria in Mundelein on December 6. The promoters and organization of the show were fantastic. The exihibitors at the show however seemed to have many of their items under $10, which is not the price range I'm in. I did meet some great exhibitors, potential clients, and saw some friends that I have not seen in long time, so it was a great day anyway. Each show is a learning experience and I learn so much just from socializing. Beading is a solitary sport, so this is my chance to get to know other crafters.
I added new items on 1000 Markets, so take a wander over there and check out the Poinsetta bracelet and earrings: http://glassmenagerie1.1000markets.com. Last chance on these until next year. I just finished a custom order for four of them.
I will talk with you soon.

FREE SHIPPING SPECIAL

I decided that every little extra savings helps in this economy, so through December 15, 2008, I am offering free shipping on all pieces. Just convo me through Etsy, or leave a message in notes to seller and I will send a revised Paypal invoice. If you prefer to pay and finish up, I will refund the difference after payment is received.

The Glass Menagerie will be participating in a craft fair on December 6, 2008 at Santa Maria. If you are in the area, stop by and see me.

More pieces are going up today, so keep checking the shop. You can find me in two places: http://glassmenagerie1.etsy.com/ or http://glassmenagerie1.1000markets.com/.

This hematite and silver reversible bracelet is the first one up today. I have discovered that pictures really are not the same as the feel and look in person. Everyone that has seen this bracelet falls in love with it. Since black and gray are favorite colors to wear, this bracelet goes with everything. There is more sparkle on one side, and the other side is slightly subdued. I promise this one is not going to last long.
I will talk with you later.

Happy Sunday

I hope everyone's Sunday is going well. Well, the home show was yesterday, and it was a very nice show. The home we were invited to was beautiful. I feel that it was well attended for being in a private home, and I took several custom orders and sold some additional items. One of the best sellers was the Mother's bracelet shown here. (Yes, I took pictures today and am listing items.) I have only listed this item so far, but look for the Teacher's Bracelet, as well as many more in the next few days. I am going to try to get in to the show at Santa Maria in Mundelein, IL on December 9. I do have enough pieces to sell there.

I took some quick pictures of my table while it was set up in my home. The pictures are not the greatest, but I thought I would share them with you, since you have to keep hearing about the show. You all are so patient, to keep coming back while I prepared for this show. It was fun, but I'm happy it is behind me. Now that the table is done, it should be a breeze.

The stands were all custom built by my husband, as well as the lighting that he put together. The lights are all polished chrome, and the displays are wood and stainless, so the table does look high end (but I am a bit prejudiced). The table cloth is light purple satin, and that is not showing well in the pictures.
Well off to list more and to finish dinner. Thanks for visiting, and let me know what you think of the table (in spite of the picture).

Thank you Veterans!

It is Veterans Day, and today should be the day that we make sure to give thanks for the men and woman who serve our country by putting their own lives on the line every day, past and present. I always believe in counting my blessings, and they are definitely at the top blessing list today.

I have completed many new pieces, but have not had time to take pictures. I'm hoping on Sunday, after the show to get them listed. Since this is the first show that I have done in years, it is like starting from scratch. The table looks great, due to the hard work my husband has put in making displays and lighting.

On Sunday, he customized a desk that he got from work, and made my workstation so much bigger. I'm getting used to it, but really like it better.

So, please bear with me the rest of this week, and I will be more on track next week with new listings.

Featured Artist Thursday and more

This very talented artist makes the cutest wristlets bags in the most beautiful colors. The colorful fabrics that are used really make you want more then one. You can find these on Etsy at: http://greenleafstudios.etsy.com/. Ange is the owner of this shop and states in her profile, "I love bright happy colors, trees, leaves, flowers, lakes, and refreshing breezes. I love putting stuff together and creating something more than just the sum of the parts. That would probably explain why I love fabric so much. I can find any and all of the things I love printed on fabric and I can make something out of it." She is also talking about using other media's in the future. I personally can't wait to see here creations. Her shop is a favorite of mine, and I bet becomes one of yours too. Ange's Etsy mini is also on the blog on the left side. It will allow you to see more of the colors she uses.

On the personal side of my business, the home show is drawing close as November 15 comes closer. My husband made me beautiful displays for bracelets and earrings and is now working of lighting. I am so fortunate to have such a supportive husband. He even sells my creations on the train!

Have a great Thursday!

Election Day!

Did you vote today? I did this morning, and am very interested in the outcome of the election. Tonight as I sit in front of the tv watching, I will also be beading. Such a great combination! I'm so behind on posting the new items I made. They need to go up, so I can get your opinion on them.

I switched the etsy mini's on the right and left of page. Make sure that you take a look at them. There are so many amazing artists on etsy and also on 1000 markets. If you haven't heard of 1000 Markets, they are located at: www.1000markets.com. This site is still in the early stages, but I'm proud to be there and grow with it. http://glassmenagerie1.1000markets.com.

I'm still looking for the Mary Engelbreit December/January magazine in the stores. If you have it, check out the Etsy ad. I'm in it!

I will post soon with new pictures and items.

Happy Halloween!!

Can you believe that it's already October 31? Christmas will be here really quick.

I was accepted and approved for my new shop on 1000 Markets. Make sure to check my first blog post and jewelry over there: http://glassmenagerie1.1000markets.com/.

I finished a pink bangle last night. It is the same pattern as the brown and gold one shown below, but it is amazing that they are so different. The brown/gold one is so elegant, and the pink one is so feminine and cute. It's amazing what colors do together. I love planning and creating each piece.

I'm excited about this weekend. Saturday, going to go gambling and on Sunday, we will be celebrating my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad! Have a great and safe Halloween weekend. I will talk with you soon.

Wondrous Wednesday

Another Featured Artist

This wonderfully creative artist gave me permission to use her mini etsy on the blog, and as I was looking through them again, (thinking its time to change them) I spotted this darling necklace. What a fun way to dress up Christmas, and you can find it at http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=16728478. In her Etsy profile, it says “I'm a mom with 2 little kids under 5 living at home & when I'm not working as a freelance toydesigner I'm making stuff for family, friends, & my humble etsy shop! The things I create are very personal...I make what I love...& hope you love it too!” Her creations look like fun, and she sounds like fun. If we were closer, I would love to meet in person. Make sure to go explore the very ingenious things she comes up with.

Monday night was bingo, and I didn’t win, but my partner did, so our winning streak is unbroken (except we can’t pay the bills on the winnings). I finished a bracelet last night while watching Biggest Loser. Is anyone addicted to this show too? Before you think, I’m a TV junkie (I am a little), it’s mostly background noise while I bead, but I do have my favorites. Anyway, back to the bracelet. It is similar to the brown one, but in blue. I have to get them listed.

Make sure you take a look at the Etsy mini’s featured in October. I will be changing them soon for November. If you are interested in putting one up, leave a comment and I will get back to you. Please understand that if the response is big (it was last time), there may be carryover to another month.

Marvelous Monday

Can you believe that Halloween is Friday already, and the time change happens this coming weekend. Yeah - an extra hour of sleep. The weekend was good. It was great seeing my brother-in-law, and would have been better if I didn't get sick again on Saturday. This darn virus just keeps holding on.

I finished a new bracelet, and am excited how the design turned out. It is in browns and uses a double spiral and cubes with Swarovski crystals. I will list it soon, so you can let me know what you think. As you can see by my newest additions (above), the tortoise bangle has been listed. I only wish you could see it in person, it is really rich looking.

This is a reminder that if you twitter, so do I, and I always follow back - so follow me: http://twitter.com/glassmenagerie1. If you don't twitter, you should join in. You will be addicted instantly.

Featured Friday Artist (and updates)

I saw this listing and it almost made me want another baby. But seriously, why wasn't all this neat stuff around when I had my son. Okay, I'll answer that - because he is almost 21 years old. But back to my Friday Featured Artist.

The above order can be specialized just for you by ThisGirlsDesigns
http://thisgirlsdesigns.etsy.com/. She states in her profile: "My favorite hobby / pastime is Graphic Design- whether I'm making custom orders for people, creating new designs, or something for myself, family or friends, I am always sure to be letting my creativity run wild!" And she loves custom work.

I truly love this idea, take the pressure off the new mommy and get those announcements out to friends and family. She also has many other really neat ideas in her shop, so jump on over and check them out. (I also like the card for any occassion).

On a personal side, my brother-in-law will be in from Atlanta this weekend which should be fun, but I still have to fit beading in. Through the boards on Etsy, I heard about another marketing site called PlumDrop, but it seems to be down now. I'll post my link there and tell you all about it this weekend. I'm still working on my 1000 Markets site. I hope to add all these links soon.

I finished a beautiful bangle bracelet, and also want to get that listed. I'm telling you, if I could just quit my day job, I could get so much more done. However on the flip side, my bead supply money might dry up, and the bills might suffer a little. Have a great Friday, and I'll talk to you this weekend. I just realized its time to change the mini's too.

Happy Monday?

Wow - over a week since I've blogged. I really need to get into a routine here.

As you can see, new pieces have been listed, and the black and crystal Swarovski bracelet will be in the Mary Engelbreight Home Companion ad for December/January. It should be for sale right about now. I'm really interested to see if it brings more exposure.

I had a lot of fun designing the watches and the Victorian looking one is just beautiful. It really does not show the gorgeous colors on the screen. (I had help putting the colors together). I just love the indian red Swarovski. So much a fall color.

I have signed up for Twitter. Please follow me. I follow back. It's really fun to mini blog. http://twitter.com/glassmenagerie1.

My next plan is to finish getting my 1000 markets account set up. I'll post the url as soon its done. I keep hearing about not putting your eggs in one basket. But with working 45 hours a week, making jewelry and marketing, I'm not sure how much more thin I can be spread. As it is right now, I'm hoping to get in for a strep test today.

I promise to see you soon.

Friday Happenings

Happy Friday! As you can see I have listed a few new items. The pointsetta earrings go with the pointsetta bracelet. I'm trying to get more pieces together and my first show is November 15. The purple Swarovski bracelet is so delicate and beautiful. I'm going to see if I can design some earring for it tonight.

It's been a busy week and I haven't blogged like I should have. Monday was bingo night and I won three games, but they were all split pots. It was fun and exciting anyway. Work was extremely busy this week with the new case, and I'm happy the weekend is here. Except I got a kidney stone last night and took the day off. Here's hoping it passes quickly. Tomorrow is homecoming at my son's college, so we are going up there for the game. The weather is supposed to be beautiful.

I still have a new featured artist to post. Hoping to get to that one soon. I also joined Twitter, but haven't quite got the hang of it yet. I'm also glassmenagerie1 over there, so if your on Twitter, let me know.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Fire and Ice

The photo above shows my newest work. The fire opal and crystal Swarovskis just play off of each other and creates the perfect bracelet for fall. It is even better in person, from the red to orange to yellow of the fire opals. There are 85 Swarovski's in this bracelet. Wear your sunglasses when you wear this one! I think they have become my favorite crystal to work with as the possiblities are endless.

I also added my Swarovski red puffy heart today. It was so much fun to make. The puffy heart uses 72 Swarovski bicones, and I added the liquid silver sterling bead with 3mm round sterling beads for the chain. Very pretty way to set off this sparkly heart.

I have been featured on a a very talented artists blog. I will feature her this week, but make sure to check it out now: http://azramomin.blogspot.com.

We went to a craft show yesterday to look around. There are some really great handmade items being shown this year. If you haven't been lately, or want to see the newest items for this year, go support your local artists or shop from home on Etsy. I'm amazed at the creativity of people.

I hope your weekend is going well. Enjoy the rest of it, and I will talk to you later.

Softpencil Featured Artist Thursday

When I asked artists at Etsy to share their "mini etsy" on my blog, Elizabeth was kind enough to share hers with me. I have to say that I love her work. Look at the colors and details in the above image. "My works are a homage to the Nature and to the beauty of their creatures, where a simple flower or a fragile animal become absolute protagonists. I wish you enjoy them!" is a statement taken from her profile, and it really reflects her work.
You can find SoftPencil's work on etsy at: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5828592, or on her website at: www.elizabethpujalka.50megs.com.

On a side note, I know that there was supposed to be a featured artist yesterday, but time just ran away from me. My day job is a legal assistant and we got a new client that had to have a lot of work done yesterday and I worked late. I know that I should not make promises that can't be kept, so the decision has been made to just blog at least every other day, and to do one feature a week. I really enjoy the features, since I get to explore new artists and learn about them.

Glass Menagerie (me) has been invited to a private home show on November 15. It is for a charitable cause and should have a great turnout.
Also, the Halloween bracelet sold last night on Etsy. This was exciting as it lets me know that the shop is getting noticed. My first sale was by word of mouth, but this one came out of the blue. Thank you so much to my buyer, and here's hoping for many more. I relisted the bracelet because the buyer did a custom order for a difference size. So if you like this bracelet (see previous post), nows the time to buy it. After Halloween, it will be gone.

Grey's is on tonight, lets hope it's better then last week. Have a great Thursday!

My First Watch

I had so much fun creating this watch. The details include Swarovski crystals, delica and seed beads. I will be working on more in the upcoming days. As always, you can find this watch for sale at: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=15682738

Can you believe that October 1st is tomorrow? Our weather has turned cooler here in Chicagoland. I guess I'm going to have break down and start getting the yard ready for winter. In honor of Halloween coming soon, I listed my first (and probably only) Halloween item.

I think it turned out really cute. And if you live anywhere close to me in Northern Illinois, it is the team colors of a Lake County High School. I figure it will do well at the craft show that I am hoping to be at in November. Still waiting for my confirmation.

Last night was Bingo night again. I didn't win on my cards, but won the door prize. My luck is still holding. I started working on a new zig zag bracelet with the fire opal Swarovski crystals. I can't wait to show it to you. It really goes with the beautiful autumn colors.

Tomorrow is featured artist Wednesday. Make sure to stop in and see the Etsian featured tomorrow. I'm not quite sure who it is yet either.

Productive Weekend

Wow, so much has happened since my last blog entry. This may be a long blog, because I want to tell you about all of them. (Guess I better start blogging everyday).

The big change to the blog that you will notice is the addition of many talented artists who also sell on Etsy. They were nice enough to share their "mini etsy's" with me, so please take a look along the right and left of the blog, and admire their work like I do. If your in the market for hand crafted items (as we should all be), check with them first. These items are top quality and if you are giving as a gift, it will be much more appreciated then a big box store item. And you will save gas!

My next big news, KimForBeads (who has a mini here) was nice enough to include me in a Treasury. It's my first treasury, and I'm so excited.

Now if you look to your left at My Showcase you will see that I listed six, yes 6 new items today which finally took me to two pages of listing. The top six items are the new ones. The bobby pins were so much fun that I just might make more.

My beading buddy came over last night and we had fun. She learned how to make three new bracelets. It is really nice to share my passion with a friend, in addition to all of you, of course. I figure that if you keep coming back to check on me, hopefully you like something I'm doing.

No promises, but I'm really going to try to do features on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday and Friday are definete, but Monday's sometimes are tough.

If you've read this far, thank you for sharing in my excitement from this weekend. I would love to hear your comments. I will talk with you tomorrow.

Featured Friday Artist Tackled And Shackled

TackledAndShackled describes this darling journal as: "You'll treasure this precious keepsake forever and ever. A plain 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" (21cm) white blank book has been lovingly embellished with whimsy and heart, every page eagerly awaiting your thoughts and images".

This wonderful Etsy shop has a variety of items in it from magnets, bird houses, wall plates to jewelry. I have had a wonderful time exploring it, and had a hard time trying to pick one item in the shop to feature. I choose the journal because of the beautiful fall colors and its ability to be used in so many different ways.

Stop by http://tackledandshackled.etsy.com/ and enjoy her great talent. Here is an excerpt from the profile to give you an idea of the style: "I enjoy many different forms of crafts and creativity, but my emphasis leans towards altered books, papercrafts, and jewelry".

So last night was the season premier of Gray's. If you watched, were you as disappointed as I was? It seemed kinda lacking in excitement, and when I thought back on it, nothing really new came to light. At least I almost finished a striped black and white bangle bracelet. My goal is get some new things listed this weekend.

I'm looking forward to Saturday, as my new beading buddy is coming over. She is so full of enthusiam for learning this awesome style of beading, and we have such a good time together. All this time of knowing each other and she had a secret stash of beads that she was trying to put to good use. I think she is now officially addicted!

I'm planning on adding some mini Etsy's to the blog too! Another etsian shared this wonderful idea with me. If you would like your mini Etsy on my blog, just leave me a comment or convo me on Etsy.

Have a great Friday and I will talk with you tomorrow.

My first Necklace

This is picture of the first necklace that I made. It was made in a tubular fashion with right angle weave. This is my first time using this stitch, but what doesn't reflect here is the great mix of bronze and topaz. The pendant is gold and topaz. I had to take a really quick picture of it because it was custom ordered and my wonderful client came to pick it up quicker then I thought she would. It has a wonderful sparkle to it. Since it will not be listed on my Etsy shop, if you are interested, send me an email or leave a comment. I will get back to you on it. It was a lot of fun creating this piece since it continued to change and evolve as the necklace grew. Click on the picture for a close up - it really does look so much better.

I'm hoping to work on some bangles tonight while watching the season premier of Grays Anatomy. Hope it is a good one. I'm wearing the black and white Swarovski bracelet today, and I love looking down at my wrist. I also am waiting patiently (not really) for my new order of crystals to come. The ideas are still pouring out faster then I can create them. I really enjoy my day job, but need more hours when I'm awake for beading. Things like laundry, cleaning and cooking keep getting in the way.

Hope your Thursday is going well, and make sure to stop by tomorrow for another Featured Friday artist.

Wonderful Wednesday Featured Artist

This captivating print is called "A Walk through Monet's Water Lilies" and can be found at ImagineStudio Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5664830.
She has other amazing work, and it is just a pleasure to look at. This particular piece really caught my eye today, as I needed some relaxation today. It is very stressful at work today, and I actually feel calmer just looking at this piece.
On this artists profile it states: "The lyrical beauty of each piece is well worth your time to see. I hope that they can provide a renewed sense of quietude to your the heart, mind and soul. So...let your spirit take flight in the beauty and awe of your own imagination."
This statement says it all, so when you need a calm, relaxing feeling, make sure to visit ImageStudio's.
As you can see, I decided to feature another artist on Wednesday too! I am randomly picking people who's work appeals to me. If you would like to be featured, please leave a comment. I would love to open my world. Have a great Wednesday, and I'll talk to you tomorrow, when I get my first watch up! It really turned out great.

New Pieces and CUBS WIN!

Okay, now you know that I'm a Cubbie fan. Now off to the World Series. It's going to happen this time, and if not there's the old saying, "There's always next year".

On to the jewelry side - I uploaded two new pieces this morning. The Swarovski red and crystal would be a perfect compliment to any Christmas outfit. It's delicate and the ruby colored bicones really stand out against the crystal backround.

This light blue swirl uses Delica beads and 3mm Czech fire polished blue crystals. The two sizes of beads creates the look of a double spiral within one bracelet.
These can be seen on my Etsy shop. I hope your weekend is going well, and I'll talk with you tomorrow.

Friday Featured Artist

Don't these darling coasters just make you think of the fall? I love the beautiful design and workmanship that you can clearly see in the creation of these little works of art.
These and more great pieces can be found at our featured artist site: http://bellflowertextiles.etsy.com/
Here is an excerpt from her profile which will give you an idea of what to expect:
"Creating a variety of home textiles that go beyond the classic definition of “quilt” but which still incorporate quilting elements to them. My placemat and coaster designs are pieced of multiple fabrics, and they usually have intricate hand or machine quilting to help make them sparkle. "
In addition a really nice blog gives you more info: http://growingnotes.blogspot.com

Two New Tumbling Cube Bracelets Added.

These two bracelets were added to my Etsy shop today. I love the pattern of them, and how it really looks like tumbling cubes and triangles. The copper one on the left just shines and I have dubbed it Autumn Glow. The tan/gold one on the right really sparkles. Both are perfect for the fall and are sure to receive many compliments. A version of the tan/gold one has also been special ordered for an October wedding.
I will post a few Christmas bracelets tomorrow although actually they are great for all year since one is red and crystal, the other other is green and silver. I also finished a blue spiral and it will be going up soon.
Did you watch Biggest Loser last night? I really enjoy this show. Maybe because it took me so long to lose 30 pounds and the people on the show are really an inspiration. Enough so, that I finally took a walk at lunch today.
Friday will definitely have a new Etsian featured. I had several responses, so there will be a few weeks of new artists, and then I will go with my favorites.

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Want to be featured on Friday - just leave comment.

Well, it's Tuesday and I won at Bingo last night. It's a good thing too, since I spent so much money on beads this weekend. (But what a better thing to spend money on!)
My business card doesn't show as well on here because it is white on one end, but you get the idea. They came yesterday from gotprints and I am very happy with them. I recommend using them if you need cards. Very fast, great price and exactly what I ordered.
I've been kicking around the idea of having "Featured Friday" where I feature a newbie Etsian or even some of my favorite sellers that I have drooling over their goods. I think we will start this Friday. I'm going to post on the Etsy forum for a newbie with zero sales, but if you fall into that category and are reading my blog, just comment to it so I know you are interested.
I took pictures today, so new bracelets are going up over the next few days. Of course I will post here, but also watch my Etsy site. Biggest Loser premiers tonight (one of my favorite shows), so you may hear some comments tomorrow. I see you then!

It's Monday.

The weekend came and went so quickly, and now to soon, it's Monday. Although as far as weekends went, it was very nice. We went out to dinner with friends on Saturday, and I did get some design time in. I finished a cute little bracelet with Swarovski crystals in emerald green accented by tans. Also made rings to go with it and one earring (ran out of crystals and am waiting for my order). I started a really cute spiral in blue and am deciding if I should put a clasp on it, or use memory wire. If you have a choice, leave a comment. I would love to know what people's preferences are. I also designed a pin of a dragonfly, but have to fine tune it.
I should be posting pictures by mid week of the new stuff.

Three custom orders came in over the weekend and I placed orders for materials, so it's getting busy. Still looking for the craft show I want to do.

Tonight, I am going to play Bingo. We won last week, so lets see if our luck holds over tonight. Wish me luck and I'll let you know tomorrow if I won.

Where does the time go?

It is amazing that time just seems to fly. The weather is getting cooler and there are just not enough hours in the day.

Last night, I worked on putting together images for advertising, signed up for a few new sites, and just am running out of time. I have not beaded for two nights and I'm itching to pick up my beads and start creating. I finished my new logo which you see above. The backround changes around for my needs. Business cards are ordered and I finished working on a darling design for bags after a piece is purchased. I didn't want just the same old-same old bags. I'm excited about them and will post a picture soon (I actually have to make them first). This leads back to when am I going to be beading again?
I will post again this weekend, so check back, and let me know what you think about the logo. I will post a picture of the new business card this weekend.

Things are happening!

So many good things happened today. I'm so glad that I can tell you about them. First of all, I made my first sale through Etsy! One of my friends told his friends about me and he bought a bracelet for his daughter on Etsy and then came over to pick it up. It was so fun meeting my first Etsy customer.

Then through a contact of my husband, I am going to have the opportunity to be in a juried show in a private home, and was told to have lots of stock on hand. I'm not sure that I can do this, but will be burning the midnight oil to make pieces. And on top of it, she customed ordered a piece for her wedding in October.

I finished two pieces this weekend. One is a darling red and crystal bracelet. The other was so fun and exciting to make. This summer I met a young woman by the name of Jessica Lynne. She is in college majoring in art, but her passion is glasswork. She made me some beautiful one of a kind lampwork beads to use in my pieces. I finally finished my first piece and was so happy to be able to put it on Etsy. You can see it above. It will never be duplicated. I also expect many amazing things from Jessica Lynne in the years to come.

Come back soon to find out about more pieces.

New Format and Layout

Wow - I can't believe another week is over and the weekend is almost here.

I changed the format of the blog to something that I think is more appealing. Let me know what you think. I have been working on my jewelry and will be putting more up this weekend. I've also been having so many ideas and gaining so much information from the great people on the Etsy forums. My next steps are to run some sort of promotion on Esty Secrets (check out my blog list), and also a giveaway on this blog.

Make sure that you bookmark my blog, as I'm picking up lots more ideas to keep things interesting and to make sure that you keep coming back.

I will be posting this weekend. As always thank you for stopping by!

New Items and more!

I added two more bracelets today. One is a delicate, darling pointsetta bracelet perfect to wear for the Christmas holiday (which is approaching much too fast). The other is an elegant black and crystal bracelet with over 80 Swarovski bicone beads. It really sparkles and shines. This bracelet is another version of the one that will be listed in Mary Englebreit's Home Companion magazine in the December/January issue.

I have been added to another etsian's blog page. There is some great things over there. Make sure to check this one: http://www.tagsandbuttons.blogspot.com/

I have finally had a chance to update and list more. The weekend has been filled with getting my son ready to go back to college. We dropped him off today, so maybe now I will get more done.

Happy Labor Day!

New Addition and Better Pictures

I added the tubular herringbone bangle today. It's so lightweight and fun to wear with your casual wear. It really seems to glow.

I'm updating my pictures, as well as rearranging the blog. As I become more adept at this, there will updates to the site and additions. I hope to make this a place where you want to come back and visit every so often.

I've been busy getting my son ready to go back to college, and finishing the bracelet for the magazine ad. Then decided that earrings were needed too.

You will notice a new picture layout. It will make it easier to see what is up for purchase and a lot less scrolling.

There are more items being listed in the next few days. Finally got a chance to take pictures.

I will talk with you tomorrow. Make sure to come back to see new pictures and new items

All kinds of changes

Well it's been a busy few days since I last blogged.

I listed two new items: a purple and silver bracelet made from sterling silver twisted tube beads. It really looks like liquid silver flowing around your wrist and is so lightweight. I have received two orders just from wearing the bracelet one day. I'm going to need more wrists to be able to wear more bracelets. The trio of Christmas wreaths are very cute and will look darling on your tree or as a package topper.

I added a list of blogs that I find interesting or helpful. Make sure you check out the first one - Etsy Secrets. It's a list of sellers that offer coupons or discounts, but only through this site. Everyone loves a deal, and if you don't know me, I'm the queen of coupons and love to use them (almost as much as creating jewelry). I will also be listed on there soon offering different discounts. So if you read my blog and jump over there, you will save money.

I also was very lucky this week and was one of 30 people who was quick enough to snag advertising space in the December/January issue of Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion through Etsy. I'm hoping for great things to happen from this ad.

I am working on a very beautiful piece for this ad, and will post it here first, since I shouldn't post it on Etsy for sale until October. It has over 80 Swarovski crystals and is quite the show stopper. I'm going to try to get the earring done too, but only have until September 3 to get the picture in.

There are also two more bracelets going up this weekend.

How exciting! Featured on another Blog

Designing and crafting my jewelry is only one of the processes in this wonderful profession. You also have to market yourself. That's why I'm so excited to let you know that I have been featured today on another blog. Take a look!

http://msjewelry4u.blogspot.com/

I'm still busy with my custom order and hope to finish them this weekend. There is also a craft show that I want to take a look at on Sunday. And in addition, I'm still working with a very talented artist who is designing my new logo, business cards and banner. I can't wait to roll this all out for you to see. I know that you are going to want your own custom design as soon as you see these. She's very creative.

I really am trying to get more pieces listed!

Two new items added today!

I added two more beautiful bracelets today.

The hematite and cats eye cuff is made using Beadalon wire, but due to the cool diamond pattern stretches to fit your wrist. This has already been a hit with my customers, especially for a gift item. When you are buying for yourself, you know if a bracelet fits you, but for gift giving it can be hard.

This cuff gives you the luxury of knowing that your gift will last for years since it is made with flexible beading wire, and won't break like stretchy cord, and it will be a custom fit.

The red and silver crystal bracelet made me realize that I'm starting to run a pattern here with diamonds. It's either time to concentrate on other designs, or I'm subconsciously designing around diamonds. I'll have to think on this one. But anyway, this bracelet just sparkles, and I guarantee that when you wear it, it will catch everyone's eye.

As always, anything here can be made to your color or size preference. I finally linked the pictures to my etsy shop, so you can just click on them and they will take you right there.

I have some great items coming up to list. Just have to find the time to photograph them and get my beading time in. Make sure to check back soon.

Tumbling Cubes and Triangles Listed

I listed the tumbling cube and triangle bracelet. This is a very fun bracelet. Because of the size of the beads (4mm and 5mm) it creates a pattern that is unique and can be worn with casual to dressy clothes.

I wore mine one day and received 7 orders in different colors and sizes. The cubes are always crystal, and the triangles and seed beads change color.

I have taken the pictures for a hematite and cats eye cuff. It is very unique looking and stretchy, but it is made with wire for durability. The design is what makes it stretchy allowing it to be worn by any size. I also have a red and silver bracelet going up soon. Make sure to watch for both of them to be posted soon.

Well, off to bead. So many ideas, so little time. Thanks for stopping by.

Waving Diamonds

I started out my first blog with this piece because of the beauty and fun creating this piece. Over 15 hours of time went into it. Even though it looks delicate, it is very sturdy and will last a very long time. All the beads have at least two passes through them and some of them up to 5 passes. The Japanese seed beads really sparkle as I love working with silver lined colors. It really enhances the piece.

My next project will be to complete the custom orders I have promised. I will be listing a purple and crystal cube bracelet shortly, which created quite a stir. It generated 7 orders in one day!
